About the exam

AZ-104 is the exam for the Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate credential. It tests whether you can run an Azure environment day to day: identities and governance, storage, compute, networking, and monitoring and backup.

Key facts, as published by Microsoft at the time of writing:

  • 40–60 questions, with about 100 minutes of answering time
  • Passing score 700 on a 1–1000 scale
  • Question styles include multiple choice, case studies, drag-and-drop and hotspot items
  • Content weighting: identity and governance 20–25%, storage 15–20%, compute 20–25%, networking 15–20%, monitoring and maintenance 10–15%

Microsoft updates the skills outline a few times a year. The questions here follow the April 2026 outline. Always check the official AZ-104 study guide for the current version, registration and pricing.

How to use these questions

  1. Work through one domain at a time in Practice by domain. Read the reasoning for all four options, not just the correct one. The exam rewards knowing why the near-misses are wrong.
  2. Bookmark anything you got right by luck. Use Retry incorrect until the domain is clean.
  3. Sit Mock exam 1 under the timer. Use the per-domain report to decide what to revise.
  4. Revise using the Microsoft Learn link under each question, then sit Mock exam 2.

Every question is an original scenario written for this site. None is copied from the real exam, Microsoft's practice assessment or any question bank.
